A Beach Supreme is a band with its roots in the UK Jazz scene, but one that blurs musical boundaries and creates its own distinctive mix of familiar grooves and tunes presented in an unfamiliar way. Inspiration for The Beach’s material is partly drawn from tunes of the 1960's/70's pop charts, arranged to bring out simple but strong grooves; yes, whether you’re six or sixty you can dance to their music.
But it will be clear to Jazz aficionados that Marc Hadley, Pete Kubryk-Townsend, Damian Rodd and Richard Penrose all find common ground in a love of the classic “Blue Note” back- catalogue, especially where it leans towards blues-soaked Hammond organ, funky sax, hard-driving bass lines, “in-the-pocket” drum grooves and a touch of Latin percussion.
Thanks to their diverse backgrounds and experience, A Beach Supreme can sound equally authentic playing Georgie Fame hits to Brazilian street funk, and switch effortlessly from James Brown to Salsa - or even drum ’n bass. The Beach are at home in venues from house parties to palaces - and at occasions from weddings to Music Festivals. |
